Tajweed & Advanced Recitation Program – Latifia Quran Online

Essential Tajweed Rules for Beautiful & Accurate Quran Recitation

The Tajweed & Advanced Recitation Program is a focused four-month course for students aged ten and above who are ready to elevate their Quran recitation to a higher level of precision and beauty. Designed for those who can already read the Quran but want to apply its rules correctly, this program transforms basic reading into confident, rule-based recitation.

Working through the essential rules of Tajweed — from letter articulation points (Makharij) and letter characteristics (Sifatul Huruf) to the rules of Noon Sakin, Meem Sakin, and practical recitation sessions — students graduate from this course with the knowledge and skill to recite the Quran the way it was revealed and taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

What Students Will Learn

The program is structured across five core topic areas, each building directly on the last to create a complete and practical understanding of Tajweed rules.

Makharij & Sifatul Huruf

Students learn the precise articulation points (Makharij) of every Arabic letter and their characteristics (Sifaat) — the foundation upon which all Tajweed rules rest.

Noon Sakin & Tanween Rules

A thorough study of the four rules governing Noon Sakin and Tanween: Izhaar, Idgham, Iqlab, and Ikhfa — with practical application in Quranic verses.

Ikhfa, Idgham & Iqlab

Detailed exploration of these three major rules — concealment, merging, and conversion — covering when, why, and how each applies within connected Quranic recitation.

Meem Sakin, Qalqalah & Ghunnah

Students master the rules of Meem Sakin (Ikhfa Shafawi, Idgham Shafawi, Izhaar Shafawi), the echoing sound of Qalqalah letters, and the nasal resonance of Ghunnah.

Practical Recitation Sessions

Every rule is reinforced through live recitation practice directly from the Quran. Teachers listen, correct, and guide students until each rule becomes natural and automatic.

What Students Achieve

By the end of the four-month program, every student will have achieved the following milestones:

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Tajweed & Advanced Recitation Program answered for students and parents.

What is the Tajweed & Advanced Recitation Program?
It is a structured four-month online course for students aged 10 and above that teaches the essential rules of Tajweed — including Makharij, Noon Sakin, Meem Sakin, Qalqalah, Ghunnah, and more — through a combination of rule instruction and live Quran recitation practice.
Do I need to be able to read the Quran before joining?
Yes. This program is designed for students who can already read the Quran in Arabic. If you are not yet able to read independently, we recommend starting with our Noorani Qaida & Quran Reading Program first, then progressing to this course.
What age group is this program suitable for?
The program is open to students aged 10 and above, including teenagers and adults. The content is suitable for any learner who can read the Quran and is ready to apply proper Tajweed rules to their recitation.
What is Makharij and why is it important?
Makharij al-Huruf refers to the precise points in the mouth, throat, and lips from which each Arabic letter is produced. Correct Makharij is the foundation of accurate Tajweed — without it, letters sound similar to one another, which can change the meaning of Quranic words. This program places significant emphasis on Makharij from the very first lesson.
How many classes per week are required?
The program runs two classes per week, each lasting 60 minutes. This twice-weekly structure allows sufficient time for rule explanation, recitation practice, and review without overwhelming students' existing school or work commitments.
Will I receive a certificate upon completion?
Yes. Students who successfully complete the four-month program and pass the final assessment receive an official Tajweed completion certificate from Latifia Quran Online, recognising their achievement in Quran recitation.
Can this program prepare me for Hifz?
Yes. Completing this Tajweed program is an excellent preparation for Hifz (Quran memorisation), because students who memorise with correct Tajweed from the beginning produce far stronger and more accurate memorisation. We recommend completing this course before enrolling in our Hifz Program.
Are classes conducted live or pre-recorded?
All classes are conducted live via video call. Live instruction is essential for Tajweed because the teacher must listen to each student's recitation in real time and provide immediate, specific correction — something pre-recorded lessons cannot offer.
